Firefox 3.6 and Personas

Whew!! Last night I successfully completed installing Firefox 3.6 in both my home & at work. Now, that I have the power of 3.6 @ my disposal let me try some new features. Hmmm!! I have never been a lover of Themes because I preferred performance over looks. What this, something called as Personas… Hmmm!! Interesting.. I could just see ‘em by a simple mouse roll-over. This could be it!! :D
I installed the Personas Add-on (http://tinyurl.com/cu4y2b) by Mozilla.. This went on fine, no issues, and created the urge in me to explore more Personas. However, to my dismay I found that after using a specific Personas (Don’t want to mention the name), my FF 3.6 boot time got reduced. Earlier, it used to start in less than a sec but now after installing that crap-work, it took me nearly a min for me to get my FF 3.6 started. I then decided to remove personas. Hope this article will help ppl to do the same. Remove personas. To do that go to Tools –> Add-ons –> Themes and uninstall the crap which is creating trouble.
The one cool feature which I found in FF 3.6 is the security feature. Click on the FavIion on the Address bar to get the basic info on the site. Clicking on more info takes you to a Page Info window where you can get detailed info. This is a good one.. Way to go FF team.
FF2.6
Anxiously waiting for FF4.. Pls don make me wait long…………

Backup Plan – Part 3

The second Question that I have asked  previously was “How many times in our life have we always done what we first wanted? (What we first wanted is always Plan ‘A’)” If this question does not make any sense to you read the following articles before continuing on this one.

Answering to my second question on backup plans, I have followed Plan ‘A’ a very few times and that is when:

  1. I made someone happy.
  2. I loved someone.
  3. I gave something.
  4. I saw happy tears.
  5. I filled and felt goodness all around us.

Again, when I couldn’t keep Plan ‘A’, I kept moving thru the secondary plans and at times fell over to Plan ‘END’, and that is when I:

  1. Broke relations.
  2. Hate someone.
  3. Ruined my respect and trust.
  4. Made people cry.
  5. Made everyone’s life around miserable.

Somewhere between these two plans lie all other plans like ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ and so on which gives me the satisfaction that I can be just a normal being. (neither a Saint(Plan ‘A’) nor a Sinner (Plan ‘END’))

This satisfaction that I received by using “Backup Plans” created a belief in me that skipping Plan ‘A’ can be at times good.

This is the end of line for my thoughts that arose when I started to write this article. I had a few questions when I started and now I have the answers for them. Look forward to my Q & A section tomorrow and thanks for reading this.

Backup Plan – Part 2

The Question that I have asked  previously was “Does the Backup Plan we make bring us success?Don’t remember what it was, follow this link to know more. (http://danishthomas.blogspot.com/2010/01/backup-plan-part-1.html)

Answer: Yeah, backup plan did help me in countless other situations. If it hadn’t helped me, if I wouldn’t have tasted success/ victory, I wouldn’t have followed it in the first place.

Just like a coin has two sides, so does everything. Everything has it’s own +ve’s and –ve’s. Let me explain. As discussed earlier, Plan ‘A’ is the main plan. Plan ‘A’ is also:

  1. Safest – Everybody is safe. Nothing bad happens.
  2. Harmless – No one is harmed/ affected in a bad way.
  3. Beneficial – Most rewarding of all successive plans and
  4. Helps everyone (not just me) and also has many more fruits.

From Plan ‘B’ onwards, the Qualities mentioned above loses it worth/ value and finally in Plan ‘END’ none of the above mentioned qualities exist. Plan ‘END’ is a plan which rewards “Just Me.

Now, that we understand the second side of the coin (Plan ‘END’), we should be able to tell that Plan ‘A’ should be the Best. However, before thinking any further on that point, let me put this question:

Q: How many times in our life have we always done what we first wanted? (What we first wanted is always Plan ‘A’)

Backup Plan – Part 1

To get sense on “Backup Plan – Part I”, you must have gone thru my article on “My Comeback”. If you had missed it, read it first from http://tinyurl.com/yfkmhxf and then proceed to this article. Before answering to my question, (Should I have a Backup Plan for writing the article on Backup Plan?) let me tell you about myself.

I had been and am being the man who has a plan. Yup, that’s right. I’m the

Man with a Plan

This careful planning habit of mine has reached its heights in such a way that it so happened that everything in my life happened the exact way I had planned it to happen. Let me explain:

I have Plan ‘A’, if Plan ‘A’ fails, I’ll switch over to Plan ‘B’. If ‘B’ fails then ‘C’, ‘D’ and so on till it goes to Plan ‘END’. Plan ‘END’ is the plan which happens in the life of every ordinary individual. (i.e., The Plan of the Last Resort)

This way, whatever happened in my life was according to my plan.

I have heard that “A man who always plans his every step, never fails”. I’m not sure as to whether I have succeeded in my life. (I really don’t know how to measure success) I spend some time thinking on this and got this question in mind. This is something for which I require an answer from you. So, go ahead, put on your thinking caps and give me some answers for this question.

Q: Does the Backup Plan we make bring us success??

My Comeback

It's 3 straight months since I have written a blog. Well, I had been waiting to comeback and though I had noted down some good articles in mind, I couldn't and didn't for some reason or the other write on My Comeback article.

Well, that's until now; I have my next article ready. This one calls for a little patience coz this
  1. Is something “Really Big” that I have written (until now).
  2. Will continue for the “Next Few Days”.
  3. Requires “Active Participation” from you.

Without causing you any more pain let me start (or rather give an intro for) my article which will continue.

Date: January 07, 2010                                                                        Time: 00:12
Yup, that correct. You read the timestamp right. I had just finished watching my everyday (or should I say everynight) Movie Quota. It was halfway through the movie that that I had plans of writing this article. Well, I couldn’t get up from the movie as it was very interesting… This calls for a Backup Plan. Gosh!! I used that word again, the very word on which I had planned to write the article about.

Flashback……. A sequence of events going on in my head…… To answer this question of mine, I will continue tomorrow with the real article on Backup Plan. In case, you are still wondering as to what was the question that I had in mind, read the next line…

Q: Should I have a Backup Plan for writing the article on Backup Plan?
